Senate Majority Policy Committee Launches Web Resource Page
www.pasenatepolicy.com
Harrisburg – The Senate Majority Policy Committee, chaired by Sen. John Pippy
(R-37), launched a new website to keep the public informed about legislative
policies and initiatives. The Committee supports the Senate Republican Caucus
through public policy research and assists in transforming ideas and concepts
into legislation.
"This website is designed to help the public access a wealth of information
with a click of a button," said Pippy. "We have developed a list of ‘Hot
Topics’ that provide a summary of the top issues the Senate will review in the
2009-10 session. In addition, the latest announcements and news about Policy
Committee hearings along with testimony and information from citizens, experts
and key parties are also available." The site includes "Weekly Session Notes,"
which summarize the bills the Senate has handled during the week and dozens of
"Issue Briefs" that highlight particular topics of interest.
"This site will grow and change in response to the agenda of the General
Assembly. This site is intended to be a resource for every Pennsylvanian.
Citizens are encouraged to make suggestions and offer comments as to how the
website can better serve its visitors," said Pippy. "By listening to the people
who are dealing with these problems – whether it’s promoting economic growth,
expanding access to health care and making it more affordable, or a range of
other issues – we can develop commonsense solutions for the people of
Pennsylvania."
