EMINENT DOMAIN

Thank you for your interest in the laws surrounding eminent domain in Pennsylvania.  I have reserved this area of my website to keep you updated on the debate and any legislative action addressing this issue.

As you may already know, Senate Bill 881 and Senate Bill 897 were introduced earlier this year in response to the United States Supreme Court decision on the Kelo v. City of New London case.  I am pleased to inform you that both of these bills passed the Senate with my support on December 7, 2005 and will now move to the House of Representatives for consideration.  I encourage you to contact your state representative, if you have not done so already, in order to make him or her aware of your views on this issue.

As the debate on eminent domain continues, I will be sure to keep this page updated with any further legislative developments affecting this issue.  In the meantime, please feel free to contact me with any further questions or concerns on this or any state-related matter.
