Any official of any political subdivision who orders, authorizes or pays a salary to a person in violation of the act commits a summary offense and would be sentenced to pay a fine of $100 or be imprisoned up to 30 days. The State Fire Commissioner would provide grants as a reimbursement for actual expenses incurred by political subdivisions for municipal firefighters who have successfully completed the required basic course of instruction. The General Assembly would annually appropriate necessary money to the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.
