Keep the Commissary in Pittsburgh
The United States Department of Defense (DoD) is currently
reviewing locations in Pennsylvania to build a new commissary
and post-exchange facility to better serve active duty, reserve,
and retired military families affected by the BRAC Commission's
decision to close the Charles E. Kelly Support Facility in
Oakdale. There are currently no other military shopping
facilities within 200 miles of the Pittsburgh area.
With the support of other state and federal elected
officials, Representative Mark Mustio and I are circulating this
petition to encourage the DoD to locate the facility at the 99th
Regional Readiness Command property in Moon Township. We are
collecting the contact information and survey data on this
petition in order to present the information to the Department
of Defense to illustrate the need for a commissary in the
Pittsburgh Area. Your email address and other contact
information will only be used to submit to the Department of
Defense for this commissary petition or to contact you for
reasons specifically related to this issue.
Thank you for taking the time to complete the petition and
short survey below. I encourage to pass this information along
to anyone you know who will benefit from the proposed
commissary.
