Pippy Joins Findlay
Connector Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Long awaited roadway opens to motorists on Wednesday.
Moon – State Sen. John Pippy (R-37) joined
officials and motorists today for the opening of the Findlay Connector
on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
The three-year, $225 million project
concluded with today's ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The road will connect the Pittsburgh
International Airport and Route 60 with Weirton, W.Va., and
Steubenville, Ohio, to the west on Route 22.
"This new
roadway will help improve commerce and development, and relieve some of
the congestion on the Parkway West," said Pippy. "The ability to create
jobs is closely related to the quality of the transportation system. The
Findlay Connector means easier access to the airport and points west,
and that is a boost for economic development."
The toll highway has four interchanges: at
Route 60/Pittsburgh International Airport; Route 30 and Bald Knob Road
in Findlay; and Route 22 in Robinson, Washington County.
