Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Traffic Advisory

ROUTE 65 LANE CLOSURES UNDER I-79 NEVILLE ISLAND BRIDGE BEGIN MONDAY
Contractor Crews Continue Bridge Repairs

Pittsburgh, PA (July 26, 2006) – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 11 is informing motorists that lane closures will occur on Route 65 under the bridge the carries I-79 over Neville Island beginning, weather permitting, on Monday, July 31, 2006, in Glenfield Borough, Allegheny County.

To minimize impacts on the traveling public, the lane closures will only occur between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily (Monday-Friday) through mid-October. The restrictions are necessary as contractor crews continue repairs to rehabilitate the Neville Island Bridge and ramps. Motorists should be prepared for changing traffic patterns and allow extra time when traveling through the area. Highway work zone safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Mosites Construction Company of Pittsburgh and Abate Irwin Inc. of Eighty Four are the prime contractors for the $3 million project.
