FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE Senator Pippy to serve on six Senate committeesAppointed Vice Chairman of Law and Justice CommitteeState Senator John Pippy, (R-37th), will serve on six Senate Committees for the 2005-06 Legislative Session. Recently, Senate President Pro Tempore Robert C. Jubelirer informed Senator Pippy that he would be appointed Vice Chairman of the Senate Law and Justice Committee, which handles such issues as state liquor laws and the state police. "Considering the variety of law enforcement and liquor law issues under its purview, I expect this Committee to be very active over the next two years," Senator Pippy said. The Senator was also appointed to serve as a member of five other key Senate Committees: Communications and High Technology; Community and Economic Development; Environmental Resources; Transportation; and Game and Fisheries. "These are all good assignments and I appreciate the opportunity to serve on these committees," Senator Pippy said. "Certainly, Transportation will examine the mass transit funding issue. Business development and job creation are at the heart of the mission for Communications and High Technology as well as Community and Economic Development. Finally, the Environmental and Game/Fish Committees accomplish critical work to preserve and protect Pennsylvania's natural resources." Contact: Matt Campion (412) 262-2260
