IMMEDIATE RELEASE Governor signs Senator Pippy's tax credit bill Legislation extending job creation program enacted into law Governor Ed Rendell today (November 19) signed into law a bill introduced by Senator John Pippy that encourages employers to hire those who were formerly receiving welfare. Senate Bill 1190 extends the sunset date of the employment incentive tax credit from December 31, 2004 to December 31, 2009. "I am pleased that the General Assembly and the Governor have acted to protect this important incentive program. This provides tax relief to employers who hire and keep people who previously were on welfare," Senator Pippy said.
