IMMEDIATE RELEASE Pennsylvania Legislators Support RMU Partners for Progress CampaignMOON TOWNSHIP, PA – Pennsylvania State Representative Mark Mustio (R-Moon Township) and State Senator John Pippy (R-Moon Township) presented Robert Morris University President Edward A. Nicholson with a $100,000 check from the Community Revitalization Assistance Program for the University's Partners for Progress campaign. The check presentation was held Wednesday, Aug. 11, on the RMU campus. Robert Morris University launched the Partners for Progress campaign last year. This $6 million campaign will provide $3 million for student scholarships and program development for the School of Engineering, Mathematics and Science and the School of Nursing and Allied Health. The remaining funds will be used to provide a state-of-the-art facility for both Schools. The project, which will take two years to complete, will transform John Jay Center into a highly technical and practical facility that fosters exceptional learning opportunities for students. Overall, nearly 43,000 square feet in John Jay will be renovated to include nine classrooms, nine laboratories, 39 faculty and administrative offices and two research centers. Robert Morris University, founded in 1921, is a private, four-year institution with an enrollment of approximately 4,800 undergraduate and graduate students. The University offers more than 30 undergraduate degree programs and 14 master's and doctoral degree programs. An estimated 22,000 alumni live and work in Western Pennsylvania. |
