SENATOR
PIPPY NAMED TO ENVIRONMENTAL PANEL
WILL SERVE ON POLLUTION CONTROL AND CONSERVATION COMMITTEE
Senate President
Pro-Tempore Robert C. Jubelirer recently appointed Senator John Pippy to
serve as a member of the Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control
and Conservation Committee.
"I am very pleased
by this appointment," Senator Pippy said. "The committee actively studies
Pennsylvania's air and water pollution laws and the way they are enforced.
The committee is also tasked with recommending changes in those laws to
the General Assembly. I look forward to working with my colleagues to help
preserve Pennsylvania's wonderful natural resources."
The Joint
Conservation Committee conducts studies, holds hearings and makes
recommendations to the General Assembly on air and water pollution laws,
mining practices and land reclamation. Recent issues that the committee
has focused upon include land use and growth management issues, sewer and
water infrastructure, and Pennsylvania's Heritage Park Program.
