SENATOR PIPPY ASSIGNED ESCORT DUTY
Accompanied Governor Rendell to budget address

Senate President Pro-Tempore Robert C. Jubelirer assigned Senator John Pippy, R-37th District, to play a key role in the ceremonies surrounding Governor Ed Rendell's budget address today.

Senator Jubelirer assigned Senator Pippy to be the chairman of an honorary committee of senators to escort Governor Rendell to the joint session of the General Assembly to present his proposed 2004-05 budget.

"We are pleased to have John back with us after his active duty service with the Army in Iraq and Kuwait. In recognition of his service, I asked John to serve as a representative of the Senate to formally escort the Governor to the House chambers," Senator Jubelirer said. "It is also noteworthy that the Governor during his address to the General Assembly commended John for his military service as well."
